‘Fixing’ email
I don't think email or email clients are in urgent need of some major 'fixing', but if we really have to fix it, there are a couple of things we should focus on first.

Twitter, why not create premium accounts?
I think that Twitter could implement some form of premium account following the example of services like LiveJournal and Flickr, making both free users and premium users happy enough about their choice.
